EAT, a 100-store sandwich, soup and coffee shop in the UK, will begin accepting contactless cards by mid-November, following a successful pilot project in 24 of its London stores over the past 18 months.
Currently, more than 9,000 outlets accept contactless cards in the UK. Barclaycard and Barclays have issued over four million contactless credit cards since its initial launch in 2007. Other brands such as Prêt a Manger, Coffee Republic, the National Trust, Books Etc and Yo Sushi also accept contactless payments.
