Vantiv picks Ingenico for EMV, NFC readers

Vantiv is now offering Ingenico’s NFC and EMV-enabled Telium series point-of-sale products to its financial institutions and merchant customers in the U.S.

The Telium readers, which are equipped with Vantiv’s own point-to-point card data encryption solution (P2PE), will help the Vantiv’s U.S. clients make the jump to EMV chip-based and NFC mobile payments, according to the company. 

Cubic customer tops one million mobile transit tickets sold in Frankfurt

Cubic Transportation Systems announced that Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund GmbH (RMV), one of Europe’s largest transport associations, has sold more than one million mobile phone transit tickets with Cubic’s smart phone app and mobile ticketing solution.

With its head office located in Hofheim, RMV oversees transit services in the Frankfurt, Germany, region, including 153 transit operators that accept tickets generated by Cubic’s app. 

DLI unveils mobile tablet with 5-in-1 payment module

DLI, manufacturer of tablets, in-vehicle computers, and mobile point-of-sale (POS) devices announced the release of the DLI 9000 rugged mobile tablet and 5-in-1 mobile payment module option.

Designed by DLI, the 5-in-1 payment module includes a magnetic-stripe, debit pin pad, contactless payment (NFC), EMV, and bar code scanning. The rugged tablet is an ideal solution designed to capture the customer and complete the sale. 

HID’s pivCLASS is GSA approved

HID Global announced that the company’s pivCLASS readers and authentication systems have achieved compliance with the U.S. General Services Administration Evaluation Program for certifying that products meet FIPS 201 federal identity specifications.

The products are the a solution that enables FIPS 201 compliance without having to replace existing access control systems and one of the first to be certified for validation services both during registration or enrollment and at the door or other access point. 

 

Albron inks deal to accept biometric and contactless payments

Albron, an independent caterer in the Netherlands, will offer biometric- and contactless-based payments in its restaurants thanks to a newly signed agreement with pan-European payment processor Equens.

The caterer will use the service “Snel en Simpel Betalen” (Quick and Easy Payments) to offer its customers the ability to choose whether they wish to pay using their finger or using a contactless-enabled payment device. 

OTI to deliver 30,000 NFC readers in the U.S.

On Track Innovations (OTI) has received an order for 30,000 of its NFC and contactless payment readers for deployment in the U.S.

OTI did not reveal who will receive the readers, but assured that the devices would be used to support the migration towards contactless payments and NFC in the U.S. 

City Council hopes for new transit card system in the future

The Invercargill City Council announced it will equip its passenger transport buses with new electronic ticketing machines in the hope that it leads to the introduction a new smart transit card system, according to The Southland Times.

The council last year decided to investigate the installation of smart cards which could be used to pay for council services such as rates, bus fares and swimming pool visits. New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) suggested it, too, would like to see smart card introduced and the council asked taxpayers whether they supported the idea.
