Solicore powers next generation of cards with thin batteries
Wednesday, May 7 2008

According to an industry report by analyst firm Eurosmart, 2007 saw a 20% worldwide growth rate in the financial smart card industry, driven by proliferation in Asian markets and escalating adoption in the health care sector throughout Europe.

A recent analysis from NanoMarkets, LC titled "Thin-Film and Printed Batteries Markets" reveals revenues in the embedded power solutions market for applications including RFID, point-of-purchase displays, powered smart cards, medical devices and sensor networks could reach over $265 million by 2010.

Solicore is embedding its patented technology in many of these solutions to enable these applications. Supplying its ultra-thin flexible Flexion batteries to French-based UNIPAY'S INTELLIGENCE (UINT), Solicore is a driving force that powers this worldwide industry, fueling its fast growth.

During the CTST 2008 annual smart card and security show, Philippe Blot, CEO of UINT, will discuss smart card innovations and solutions on Tuesday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Philippe Blot will participate as a featured panelist in the "Emerging Technology and Innovation" spotlight, and will discuss further opportunities for Solicore's Flexion batteries to power inlay platforms in multiple areas, such as security, payments, ID, acoustic and various lifestyle and affinity applications.

Solicore will be attending CTST May 12-15, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. Please visit www.solicore.com for more information about Solicore and their Flexion battery portfolio.
