HMV launches Visa payWave contactless payments across Canada

Entertainment retail chain HMV has announced it will adopt Visa payWave contactless payments in 116 stores across Canada.

Starting this month, HMV customers nationwide will be able to pay for music, DVDs, video games, books and more with a simple tap of their contactless payWave-enabled credit or debit card at the point of sale.


HMV says the system is also equipped to handle contactless mobile payments made with payWave-enabled handsets.

In addition to the contactless roll out, HMV has also announced that it will begin accepting Visa Debit payments for online purchases. [end] 

Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE has partnered with Turkcell, Turkey’s largest mobile operator, to offer a new SIM-based NFC mobile device for the Turkish market.

The Turkcell T11 handset (aka the ZTE Racer II) can be used to pay for both highway toll payments and items at the point of sale with a simple tap against a contactless reader.
