ACI launches card issuing solution for EMV, contactless

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Payment systems provider ACI Worldwide has launched ACI Issuer 4.2, a new solution geared toward meeting card issuing requirements around the world.

ACI Issuer 4.2 is built on ACI’s BASE24–eps and BASE24 payments engines and features support for EMV, NFC, contactless and mobile rollouts, as well as traditional magnetic stripe.

ACI Issuer, which has been used to issue and manage more than a hundred million cards worldwide, supports the complete life cycle of back office processing, including setting up card product terms and conditions, opening accounts, issue and re-issue of plastics, account management, transaction management and customer service.

According to ACI, the solution is built to support some of the largest card bases in the world, with one customer, Bank of China, approaching 50 million cardholders and still growing.

Other features of Issuer 4.2 include support for debit, credit, pre-paid or commercial accounts from a single platform, and full multi-currency, multi-institution and multi-language capabilities. [end]

The bank will start to roll out the new contactless cards to existing customers whose debit cards are due to expire this month and then continue the process as cards expire. Customers who don’t want a contactless card can opt out by contacting their bank before their current card expires.
