Collis, Cetecom deliver tools for German eTicketing system

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Cetecom ICT Services and Collis have teamed up to develop VDV-KA Test Tools and a VDV-KA Test Lab for VDV-Kernapplikations GmbH & Co. KG’s (VDV KA KG) eTicketing project in Germany.

According to Collis, the tools and lab ensure the compliance of all core application (KA) systems in the version 1.106 with the German eTicket standard defined by VDV KA KG. The system was developed to ensure interoperability for a nation-wide eTicket network in Germany, which will enable the use of contactless card payments all over the country using different transport companies.

Cetecom’s test services for VDV KA systems are now live. All terminal types, clearing systems, SAMs and user cards can be subjected to certification tests.

As a sub-contractor, Collis has designed and built test specifications and test equipment for the test lab. The lab runs on Collis Conclusion Test Manager, which approaches each system under test via several interfaces simultaneously. The solution also uses Collis SmartLink Box and Collis SmartWave Box.

Additionally, Collis is providing its VDV-KA Test Tools for system manufactures. This is a lighter version of the tools used by Cetecom in the certification process, covering 25% of the crucial tests for certifying terminals and cards. According to Collis, these test tools are intended to ultimately speed up the official certification process. [end]
