Kaba announced the appointment of a few new people to its leadership team. The new appointments will take up the reigns as head of Group Services, and Group Human Services.

Patrick Grawehr, will become the head of Group Services, while Karen Bertschinger will become the head of Group Human Resources.

The additions to the team will use their years of experience to help lead their respective teams into the future.

Les Hôtels JARO goes contactless with Kaba RFID Locks

Kaba announced that Les Hôtels JARO in Quebec City, Canada has equipped five of its properties with its contactless RFID locking systems.

The hotel management company implemented ILCO 790 locks at three of its hotels – Hotel Quebec Inn, Hotel Quebec, and Hotel Must. The Hotel Palace Royal and its sister property, the Hotel Plaza Quebec, installed Saflok RT hotel door locks with Messenger LENS online wireless system.

Computer server at University of Maine hacked

Social Security numbers and credit card information of 2,818 users of a University of Maine computer server may have fallen into the hands of hackers, according to university officials.

e-DATA acquired by Kaba Group

E-DATA, a supplier of Web-based solutions has been purchased by Kaba Group.

E-DATA will bring its experience with physical access control, time & attendance, as well as its biometric products to the Kaba Group. The acquisition will help Kaba Group bolster areas of its business.

Flexible lockdown options address campus security challenges

Kaba Access Control, Winston-Salem, N.C., has incorporated multiple lockdown options in its E-Plex Wireless Access Control System enabling users to centrally manage lock commands such as remote unlock, passage and emergency lock-down.
