RF IDeas unveiled its full line of proximity and contactless readers and devices, all HIPAA compliant and designed to keep health care organizations on top of their compliance requirements.
pcProx Enroll enables users to use their existing building access card for other forms of identification and security throughout their workplace, either embedded in a keyboard or the standard wedge type housing. Acting as a card enrollment or ID badge reader/tester, the USB model mimics a keyboard and will keystroke the card’s ID or site code to the cursor’s location on the screen.
Designed to address security risks and privacy concerns with unattended computers, the pcProx Sonar provides HIPPA compliance by protecting sensitive data. When a user physically steps away from the computer, the product detects the user is no longer present and automatically locks the computer.
RF Ideas’ AIR ID products leverage current HID iClass and NXP MIFARE badge investments and existing control systems. The plug-and-play AIR ID Playback reader delivers user data from the contactless card to the desired application or machine. Data may also be written to the card using the AIR ID Writer.
All offer the technologies necessary for meeting and further enhancing HIPAA requirements including the ability to integrate with software applications to allow for two-factor authentication. Poor choice of words. A reader itself is not "HIPAA compliant," and using stronger authentication does not make one HIPAA compliant.
