PayPass adoption spreads in Poland

Polish merchants are warming up to contactless payment with the addition of 110 new stores now accepting MasterCard’s PayPass credit and debit cards, according to Polishmarket.com.
Customers can now tap and pay at stores belonging to the Ultimate Fashion chain, including Aldo, Esprit, Mexx, Mango, New Look, Hugo Boss, River Island and Wallis. Any purchase of PLN 50 (about $17.50) does not require the entry of a PIN.
Mastercard PayPass cards are issued in Poland by a variety of banks: Pekao, BZ WBK, ING Bank, Alior Bank, mBank, Multibank, Citi Handlowy, Deutsche Bank PBC, Invest-Bank, Millennium, Polbank, Raiffeisen Bank, Getin Noble Bank, BNP Paribas Fortis and GBW.
Visa’s contactless payment cards, PayWave, are also available in Poland.
