DAILY launches new tag to track jewelry

DAILY has released a new 13.56MHz contactless tag designed for jewelry tracking. With 0.6mm thickness and a read range up to 3 feet, the RFID jewelry tag allows retailers the ability to execute quick inventory checks.

The new ISO 15693 compliant tag also features anti-collision functions, allowing the reader to read up to 60 jewelry items at the same time.

SML launches 'ViziT' solutions for apparel, partners with TAGSYS and Nedap Retail

SML Group Ltd announced the launch of its new “ViziT” RFID item visibility solutions for the retail apparel and item tracking applications.

The ViziT solutions include a range of RFID/EAS enabled paper and woven labels, as well as tickets and sticker that can be attached to garments and stacked items. Using the SML ViziT IT cloud based data management software also provides for semi automated inventory control, as well as improved loss prevention by triggering alarms and item identification at the store exit.

Honeywell enters the RFID space with new retail solution

Proclaiming its entrance into the RFID space, Honeywell introduced part of a new product portfolio designed to bring efficiency to the retail industry, the Optimus 5900 RFID mobile computer.

Office Depot launches in-store PayPal pilot

Office Depot has joined Home Depot as the second U.S. retailer to test PayPal’s point of sale payments solution, according to TG Daily.

Customers at select Office Depot stores can now make payments directly from their PayPal balance by simply punching in their mobile phone number and PayPal PIN. The solution requires only a software update at the point of sale for the merchant, and customers do not need to use a payment card, contactless fob or NFC-enabled phone to make a transaction.

Bluestar launches cashless ticketing scheme

UK-regional bus group Bluestar has launched a new transit card for discounted weekly and monthly travel on its network, according to Southern Daily Echo.

The new card enables cashless fare for any service on the Bluestar Network in Southampton, Eastleigh and Winchester. It also supports travel on Wilts & Dorset buses and Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight, both of which are owned and operated by Go-Ahead Group.
