HID Global launches new e-ID reader platform

Thursday, July 29, 2010

HID Global announced the launch of its identiCLASS e-ID embedded reader platform for e-ID solutions.

The globally certified e-government solution includes the new 3300 Reader Core for hand-held terminals and other space critical applications and the 3500 Reader Board for kiosk terminals where multiple antennas are required.

Built to meet the demands of OEM partners, system integrators and manufacturers of e-ID authentication systems, the identiCLASS platform reader boards and modules are CE and FCC modular approved, allowing developers to reduce the time required for certification of their finished solutions, according to HID.

identiCLASS offers a flexible interface to all contactless and contact credentials, and is compliant with MIFARE, DESFire, and iCLASS, as well as Windows, Windows CE, Linux and Mac operating systems.

In addition, HID’s new identiCLASS developer tool kit provides OEMs and developers a link to an online developer portal for access to samples of identiCLASS reader boards, testing materials and all the relevant technical resources, tools and documentation developers require to accelerate their solution design. [end]

GAO RFID has released a Wiegand-to-Ethernet RFID controller designed specifically for door access applications.
