OTI tapped for national ID program

On Track Innovations Ltd., a provider of contactless microprocessor-based smart card solutions, announced that it has signed a contract to supply part of its Magna platform in order to assist the efforts for the modernization of a unnamed country’s ID system.

The expected revenues from the contract are close to $2 million, with deliveries expected to commence in the second half of the year. The new project comes after successful implementations of ID projects in the same country. [end] 

Precise Biometrics has announced it has selected GD Burti for exclusive distribution of the company’s fingerprint and smart card readers in Brazil.

The move to get heavy distribution in Brazil became increasingly important for Precise as the country is completing its roll-out of the Brazilian National ID project which provides all of Brazil’s citizens with a smart ID card that has an embedded chip with each citizen’s fingerprint data for authenticating their identity where necessary.
