Aconite smart card solution chosen by ICBC

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Aconite, a smart card business software and consulting services provider, announced that Datacard Asia Pacific has been awarded the contract to supply Aconite’s smart card management solution, Affina Enterprise, to ICBC, China’s largest bank.

ICBC chose Affina Enterprise to enable them to personalize card services at both the regional and individual level through the upload of new smart card applications onto the cards post-issuance.

According to Aconite, ICBC plans to roll out more than 20 new applications in the near future, and needed a solution that could be easily integrated within its existing infrastructure.

The Affina Enterprise solution enables financial institutions to manage their portfolio of smart applications and devices down to the individual customer level, as well as enables banks to migrate easily to the EMV-standard.

Aconite, who acquired the intellectual property rights to the Affina Enterprise Platform together with support and development staff from Datacard in July 2008, is responsible for supplying the software and downstream development and support to existing and new customers in the banking, national and corporate ID markets. [end]
