BHPetrol, Mastercard to launch 'Tap & Give' charity campaign in Malaysia

To celebrate the fifth anniversary launch of PayPass in the Asia/Pacific region, Mastercard is teaming up with BHPetrol to kick off a new campaign called “Tap & Give,” which will provide the Kwanis Down Syndrome Foundation a portion of every PayPass customer transaction performed at BHPetrol stations.

The Kwanis Down Syndrome Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to the welfare of children aged six and under with Down Syndrome. BHPetrol and Mastercard will officially launch the new campaign December 15 during a ceremony at a specially selected BHPetrol station in Kuala Lumpur. [end] 

Nokia is launching a campaign to educate consumers in the United Arab Emirates on the benefits of using NFC technology in mobile devices.

The first of its kind in the UAE, the campaign will kick off with the installation of NFC-enabled posters at the VOX cinema in the Mall of the Emirates from Thursday to Saturday. All Nokia N9 smart phone users will be able to tap the posters to receive free cinema tickets, refreshments and the latest movie schedules from VOX cinema, according to Nokia.

McDonald’s and Barclaycard are gearing up to launch NFC awareness campaigns aimed at spurring the adoption of contactless payment technology, according to MarketingWeek.

Barclaycard, which holds the highest share (71%) of the UK contactless market, reports that contactless transactions have doubled in the last year, but are still “nowhere near” where they want to be, according to Tom Gregory, Barclaycard’s head of digital payments.

Much like DeviceFidelity’s In2Pay solution, moneto relies on a protective iPhone case equipped with an NFC-enabled microSD card.
