Dynamic Card Solutions names director to guide advanced payments sector

Dynamic Card Solutions, an Englewood, Colo. provider of instant issuance and PIN selection solutions, has named Guy Berg its director of advanced payment technologies. In this role, Berg, formerly president of Collis America, a payments industry consultant, will help lead product development of Dynamics’ smart card instant issuance and PIN change solutions.

With over 20 years of experience in the banking and credit and debit card industry, Berg’s speciality is in EMV, contactless cards, mobile NFC payments and the electronic payment ecosystem. As Collis president he provided EMV implementation consulting and compliance tools for EMV cards, terminals and authorization host systems.

Through his career, Berg has worked with most aspects of the payment ecosystem including POS application development and terminal design, merchant acquiring and card management systems, and new account fraud prevention products. In addition, he has worked on EMV migration projects globally over the past 10 years and most recently was involved with NFC mobile payments. He has also contributed to early GlobalPlatform specification development and Smart Card Alliance white papers. [end]

Survey: Germans coming around to NFC, contactless payments

A new survey from Euro Kartensysteme shows that Germans are starting to embrace the idea of contactless and NFC payments.

Out of 1,040 Germans aged 18-59, 43% responded that they would like to make contactless payments if given the opportunity, of which 58% percent would make their payments with a debit card card, 41% with a credit card and 50% with an NFC phone.
