Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Panasonic Computer Solutions Company has just announced that its Toughbook H1 mobile clinical assistant (MCA) has been certified for use on the Verizon Wireless Network.

The Toughbook H1 is a light weight mobile computer designed to give doctors instantaneous access to medical records via a broadband connection provided by Verizon. The H1 is suitable for health care professionals who travel between offices, patient homes and hospitals, eliminating down time and increasing productivity.

The device features an integrated RFID reader, 2.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with dual LED lights, a bar code reader, contactless smart card reader and fingerprint readers.

According to Panasonic, the H1 and the Verizon Wireless network can help health care organizations maximize efficiency as well as improve workflow and ease clinical loads for doctors and nurses, allowing immediate access to patient records at the point of care as well as real-time documentation of a patient’s condition.

Panasonic has priced the base H1 model at $2,999. [end]
