Barnes International passes MasterCard personalization test

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Barnes International announced the qualification of its MasterCard Card Personalization Test Module for MasterCard Worldwide to the latest Personalization Validation Tool Requirements version.

The new 2.0 module complements the CAT3000v3 and CPT3000v3 Personalization Validation Test Tools to provide card validation prior to submission to MasterCard Worldwide for certification.

Barnes’s module for CPV validation has been qualified by MasterCard Worldwide as a Test Tool based on MasterCard requirements. The CPV 2.0 module is just the latest addition to the CPT range and is part of an ongoing development program for the CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 Card Personalization Validation Tools in widespread use by payment schemes, banks, card manufacturers, personalization bureaus and test laboratories.

The CPV 2.0 module is now available to existing and new users of the CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 Test Tools to enable them to pre-validate cards prior to certification using the same tests as employed by MasterCard Worldwide for M/Chip and PayPass card testing. The module is approved to validate card personalization to M/Chip - March 2008, M/Chip Personalization Data Specifications - May 2008, PayPass Personalization Data Specifications v 1.3 - May 2008 and One Smart Pre-Authorization - January 2005.

The CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 are the latest version of Barnes’ Personalization Validation Tool originally launched in 1999. [end]

Barnes International announced that its updated Visa GPR Test module now complies with the latest version of Visa’s Global Personalization Requirements.

The updated test tool will offer evaluation of a chip product to ensure it meets industry and payment scheme certification standards. This reduces a product’s time to market as the chip is aligned to Visa Specifications throughout the development life cycle and before applying for official Visa approval.
