GlobalPlatform will host a one day card specifications technology training session to educate the U.S. market on the benefits of open and interoperable specifications for smart card deployments. The session is scheduled for July 22 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco.
Following the success of GlobalPlatform’s first card training session, which took place in Vienna earlier this year, a similar agenda will be delivered by Gil Bernabeu, GlobalPlatform’s technical director, to benefit delegates from the U.S. smart card market. Delegates will receive an overview of the organization’s suite of specifications, thorough training on core card specifications and an insight into GlobalPlatform’s forthcoming technical releases.
One document that will be examined in detail is the GlobalPlatform UICC Configuration; a technical guide which outlines a common and neutral environment to facilitate the secure delivery over-the-air of new and creative mobile services to consumers.
Delegates will learn how GlobalPlatform technology can support a range of business models in various ecosystems and the endless number of commercial opportunities that can be achieved. In addition, the session will address GlobalPlatform’s forthcoming amendments to Card Specification v2.2, including Amendment C to support new requirements related to contactless and Near Field Communication technology such as end-user application selection.
The cost of the training session is $995 for GlobalPlatform members, $1,295 for Smart Card Alliance members and US $1,495 for non-members. A limited number of places are available.
