Australian bank deploying contactless readers

Commonwealth Bank will install 5,000 contactless payment readers across Australia by Christmas, according to an Australian IT news report.

The plan follows an 18-month trial involving 200 contactless readers distributed across a range of cafes and restaurants. Commonwealth will start to distribute readers in June.
