Augsburg mulling additional apps for transit card

Travelers in Augsburg, Germany already using the contactless KAROCARD to travel on the trains and buses in the area, but officials are thinking of adding other applications to the card, including paying for parking and even fuel at gas stations.

Around 85,000 citizens of Augsburg are already using the cards for rides on the transit system. Augsburg is working with LEGIC Identsystems Ltd., the consultancy Cosmo.ID and the general contractor Multicard. [end]
