Compass Group cafeterias to accept PayPass

Compass Group North America, a provider of contract food service and hospitality services to corporations and colleges/universities, will begin accepting MasterCard PayPass at select cafeterias across the U.S.

Compass Group customers, which include employees and guests of corporations, will be able to tap their PayPass cards or devices on specially equipped readers at check-out to pay for their meals.


Throughout 2009, Compass plans to deploy PayPass-accepting Vivotech 4500M contactless readers at check-out lanes at its food service locations.

Compass Group, based in Charlotte, N.C., will accept MasterCard PayPass in addition to all other traditional magnetic-stripe payment card brands. [end] 

DeviceFidelity and SpringCard have unveiled moneto, a multiplatform mobile wallet solution for iPhone and Android users.

Much like DeviceFidelity’s In2Pay solution, moneto relies on a protective iPhone case equipped with an NFC-enabled microSD card. The moneto mobile wallet is powered by MasterCard PayPass technology and linked to a reloadable MasterCard prepaid card to enable contactless mobile purchases wherever PayPass is accepted.

The UK’s YESpay International and YES-wallet.com have teamed up to build an NFC-enabled cloud-based mobile payments platform.

By integrating the YES-wallet Pouch digital wallet with YESpay EMBOSS payment service, the companies will provide a platform that encompasses e-Money, pre-paid and gift-card payments based on Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass contactless standards.

Turkcell, Turkey’s largest mobile operator, has announced the launch of its Cep-T Cüzdan NFC mobile wallet application on BlackBerry Bold 9900 smart phones.

Turkcell subscribers with NFC-enabled Bold 9900s can now use the mobile wallet service to make contactless payments at any MasterCard PayPass-enabled point of sale across Turkey, as well as abroad.
