Atmel, TazTag partner on contactless device

Monday, February 23, 2009 in News

Atmel Corp. and TazTag announced that the companies are collaborating to bring to market all-in-one contactless solutions to store and protect personal data. As a first step in their collaboration, TazTag is using the Atmel AT98SC016CU security module in TazCard, an electronic wallet.

The TazCard is a new multi-purpose device in a slim credit card format (6 mm in thickness). This personal safe with a large touch screen, a fingerprint sensor and various communication interfaces (NFC, USB, ZigBee) enables a range of security applications such as access control, ticketing, couponing and payment. If required, a Java Software Development Kit makes possible the addition of further customized applications. [end]
