Payments executive joins TranZfinity's board

Carlsbad, Calif.-based TranZfinity, a transaction solutions provider for contactless and NFC payments, has named Bud Waller, executive vice president at VeriFone, to its board of directors. Waller has served in a variety of executive leadership positions at VeriFone since 1986, including senior vice president and general manager of the Petroleum and Convenience Store Division.


Prior to VeriFone, Waller worked for 11 years at General Electric Company. He holds an M.B.A. from Syracuse University.

Waller joins Jesse Adams, TranZfinity’s COO and board chair, on the board. Prior to guiding TranZfinity’s executive team Adams held a variety of positions at VeriFone as its executive vice president and vice chairman through a successful IPO, where he partnered with many Fortune 100 company executives in the financial, information technology, services and retail markets.

Other Board members are: Jeff Miles, TranZfinity CEO and president; Felix Marx, SCM Microsystems CEO; and, Jonatan Schmidt, TranZfinity’s chief strategist. [end] 

Superdrug, one of Britain’s largest beauty and health retailers, has introduced contactless payment for its in-store customers, according to Retail Gazette.

Created by Streamline and Visa Europe, the contactless system will enable customers to make payments of up to £15 (approx. USD $23) by simply waving their contactless bank card at the more than 50 participating Superdrug stores in London and Liverpool.
