Visa, Thai bank launch mobile payments trial

Kasikornbank customers in Thailand will be able to use their Nokia 6212 phones to utilize Visa’s payWave contactless technology to pay for purchases. Those participating in the trial will be able to make purchases at some 1,000 merchant locations by a simple wave of their NFC-compliant cell phones. In addition to contactless payments, the payWave platform offers coupons and direct marketing.
