Faber Coe & Gregg, which operates stores and restaurants in airports, train stations and hotels in the eastern U.S. announced that it will be using an integrated contactless and mag stripe reader from ViVOtech. Customers will be able to self-swipe their mag stripe cards or, if contactless, to tap them against the ViVOtech 4500m readers. The reader can also accept payments from NFC-compliant mobile phones.

Contactless payment will be accepted at all of the check-out counters of Faber’s food and retail stores. The Faber family of brands includes a wide variety of national retailers, newsstands, and café shops such as Hugo Boss, Cubavera, Diamond Fire, Taxco, L’Occitane, Faber News Now, Dunkin Donuts, Java Moon, Cuban Coffee, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Wetzels Pretzels, Pizzeria Uno Express, and Sandella’s Flatbread Café.

The ViVOpay 4500m device, which was showcased during the National Retail Federation’s conference this week in New York City, features advanced contactless functionality in a flexible architecture. It provides for a single point of acceptance for all transactions from contactless and magnetic-stripe cards to NFC phones. [end]
