OTI's contactless readers receive MasterCard, Visa approval

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Two readers from On Track Innovations, Fort Lee, N.J., have been approved for MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave usage. The Saturn 6000 counter top and the 6500 outdoor reader support the global contactless EMV applications published by MasterCard and Visa, as well as MiFare technology, and non-EMV contactless payment programs from other major financial institutions, including ExpressPay from American Express and Discover.

The Saturn 6000 features a large LCD display, allowing for configurable images, and programmable lines of characters in multiple languages. Its plug-and-play design and small footprint provide easy installation and multiple configurations. For example, it can be placed on a counter top, wall-mounted or it can lie flat.

The Saturn 6500 is built for vending machines, petroleum and mass transit markets. The reader can handle both magnetic and contactless cards.

OTI will be demonstrating its solutions at the CARTES & IDentification 2008 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Paris. [end]
