INSIDE enters contactless payments market in Brazil

Monday, October 13, 2008 in News

French microprocessor company INSIDE Contactless has entered the Brazilian payments market through a partnership with American Banknote Brazil to produce a MasterCard type-approved contactless payment card for this growing market. INSIDE is supplying ABnote Brazil with its MicroPass 4003, a contactless payment processor designed from the ground up for MasterCard PayPass applications.

ABnote Brazil is a secure printing and transaction service provider in Brazil, producing hundreds of millions of cards each year for Banco Bradesco, Banco Itaú, Unibanco and Banco do Brasil, as well as Caixa Economica Federal, one of the largest government-owned financial institutions in Latin America.

The multi-application MicroPass 4003 platform is compliant with the latest MasterCard PayPass specifications, enabling ABnote Brazil to quickly obtain approval for its products.

The MicroPass payment platform, launched in 2005, is designed to power open standard contactless and dual-interface bank card payments along with other value-added applications in all global regions. [end]
