Ingenico to showcase contactless payment solutions at Cartes

Monday, October 13, 2008

Payments terminal provider Ingenico is scheduled to display its newest contactless payment devices, including NFC mobile payments via its ML 30 Contactless PINpad, at the Cartes and IDentification show in Paris Nov. 4-6.

The Ingenico contactless range features the PCI-PED certified i3070 and ML30 handheld PinPads - combining a smart card, magnetic card and contactless reader, and offering mobile phone (NFC) payment in a single package.

“Consumers are increasingly demanding faster, more convenient methods of payment. Anticipating and responding to these changing behaviors is critical for today’s retail and banking brands,” said Joël Chevillard, Ingenico’s payment terminals director.

The ML 30 PinPad can simplify the installation of contactless solutions in a store by retaining support for chip and pin and magnetic stripe payment in a single device, he added. [end]

Sticking to its plan for a contactless rollout in 2012, Australian retailer Coles has selected Ingenico to provide its Ingenico iPP350 contactless payment terminals.

According to finextra.com, the Aussie retailer first piloted the technology in September 2011, and has since decided to expand. All business groups will deploy the new iPP350 across 24,000 lanes within the next few months, making the retailer one of the first in Australia to offer the contactless payment option.
