LEGIC unveils new products, applications

Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in News

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd will be showcasing new products at the SECURITY 2008 conferences in Essens, Germany this week. New products include enabling logical access on contactless smart cards, a venture into near field communication and new applications with its Master-Token System Control (MTSC) physical security system.

LEGIC’s card-in-card solution will enable companies to embed a virtual LEGIC transponder into contactless or dual interface smart cards provided by third parties. The cards can then be used for logical and physical access control.

This product will also work with SIM cards in mobiles devices, enabling LEGIC applications to be transferred to NFC mobile devices. LEGIC partnered with Giesecke & Devrient on the portion of the project.

Venyon, a joint venture of Giesecke & Devrient and Nokia, is a provider of over the air services that would make the transfer of applications possible.

LEGIC will also be showcasing new functionality of its Master-Token System Control physical security system. The primary new application includes a counting function that enables organization to know how badges have been issued for access to a particular system. [end]
