$10 million spent on Visa cards first day of Olympics

Tourists attending the Olympics in China have spent about $10 million U.S. on their Visa credit, debit and prepaid cards during the first day of the games, Visa reports. The biggest Visa spenders were from the U.S., followed by Japan, Hong Kong SAR, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Visa says money spent by tourists on its cards on 8 August 2008 showed an increase of 11% over the same day last year. Read more here[end]
