Taco Bueno restaurant adds MasterCard PayPass to corporate locations

Thursday, August 7, 2008

U.S.-based Mexican quick-service restaurant chain, Taco Bueno, is the latest retail food chain in the U.S. to accept MasterCard PayPass at its 161 corporate locations in Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Customers can use their PayPass contactless card or device to pay for menu items at the counter or drive-thru.

“Merchants in busy environments like quick-service restaurants increasingly recognize the value of accepting MasterCard PayPass, which provides greater speed and convenience at the point of sale,” said Cathleen Conforti, senior vice president, Global PayPass, MasterCard Worldwide. “Taco Bueno’s acceptance of PayPass will help improve customer service with shorter, faster lines.”

A 2007 MasterCard PayPass Benchmark Study found that about 90 percent of PayPass-using respondents were satisfied with their experience, and 71% of PayPass consumers said they use PayPass as their primary card for everyday purchases.

Taco Bueno also accepts traditional magnetic-stripe payment cards at its corporate store locations. [end]
