Datacard, Aconite partner
Datacard Group announced that Aconite has acquired the Datacard Affina Enterprise Platform software from the Minnetonka, Minn.-based secure ID manufacturer. Aconite is a UK-based provider of EMV and smart card software and products.
Under the terms of the agreement, Datacard Group transfers intellectual property rights, support and development staff for Affina Enterprise Platform software to Aconite in return for an equity stake in Aconite and future royalties.
The software will remain a Datacard solution and part its intellectual property; however Aconite will become an authorized distributor of the issuance side of the solutions. Additionally, Datacard will become a global non-exclusive reseller for Aconite solutions including EMV Transaction Enabler, EMV Script Processor, Contactless PrePaid solutions as well as the Affina Enterprise Platform software.
Datacard Affina Enterprise Platform software enables issuers to manage their portfolio of smart chip enabled cards, down to the individual cardholder level. Affina Enterprise software manages multi-application smart cards by acting as the database and system of record to track changes and overall status of issued cards. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/contactlessnews-4.gif)
