Coke pushes to keep up with cashless society

Coca-Cola will be partnering with USA Technologies and MasterCard to install a record number of mag stripe and contactless readers in their vending machines throughout several American markets. Multicard has announced the expanded roll out of its Cashless Betalen mobile banking solution with NFC payment stickers across the Netherlands.

Cashless Betalen, the account management application behind the digital wallet offered by Rabobank, enables users to check their account balances, transfer and deposit funds and make payments and can be accessed via any connected mobile device. As part of the roll out, Multicard is also providing digital wallet customers with NFC stickers, or “tokens,” that can be affixed to the back of a user’s mobile phone to purchase items with a simple tap at the point of sale.

UK-regional bus group Bluestar has launched a new transit card for discounted weekly and monthly travel on its network, according to Southern Daily Echo.

The new card enables cashless fare for any service on the Bluestar Network in Southampton, Eastleigh and Winchester. It also supports travel on Wilts & Dorset buses and Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight, both of which are owned and operated by Go-Ahead Group.
