Wednesday, April 18, 2007

A partnership between Precision Dynamics and Salto Systems will allow production of RFID wristbands for keyless entry to rooms and storage lockers in hotels, resorts, amusement parks and other entertainment venues.

San Fernando, CA – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a leader in and innovator of automated wristband identification, and Salto Systems, a provider of electronic locking systems, announce a joint marketing agreement for RFID-enabled (radio frequency identification) access control.

The agreement supports Precision Dynamics’ new business strategy to offer RFID consulting services for customized systems. The Salto partnership allows PDC to deliver advanced access control using PDC Smart Band RFID Wristbands for keyless entry to rooms and storage lockers in hotels, resorts, water and amusement parks, and other leisure and entertainment venues.

“PDC continues to build strategic alliances that include the development of integrated RFID solutions which enable us to offer custom, quality systems to businesses,” say Robin Barber, vice president for PDC. “Collaborating with a cutting-edge company like Salto is a natural extension, and complementary, to our RFID business strategy.”

Precision Dynamics offers RFID consulting services and products focused on three areas of expertise: consulting, application development, and project management. This approach allows PDC to customize RFID applications based on every customer’s unique business goals, objectives, and infrastructure.

PDC introduced the first patented RFID wristband, Smart Band, which is used in venues such as waterparks and resorts for automated admissions, guest identification, cashless point-of-sale, keyless entry, and more.

Salto Systems Inc, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, is a global provider of intelligent locking systems for a variety of sectors including hotels, airports, corporate, government, healthcare, and education.

“We look forward to building a strong alliance with PDC and together enhancing guest experience and security with keyless access for hotel rooms, lockers, elevators and access doors,” says Manuel Albert, vice president for Salto.

GAO RFID has released a Wiegand-to-Ethernet RFID controller designed specifically for door access applications.

The network access controller, model 491018, is able to connect to any type of Wiegand reader such as magnetic stripe reader, RFID reader or fingerprint reader. It also offers a master card for adding or deleting access privileges directly from the external reader, thus acting independently without connection to a network or PC.
