Datakey, Inc. and Indala Corp. Form Alliance to Offer Single Authentication/ID Solution

Tuesday, June 1, 2004

Datakey, Inc., (DKEY.OB; www.datakey.com), a leading developer of information security software products that simplify and secure authentication to corporate information systems, and Indala Corporation, (www.indala.com), the leading manufacturer of multi-technology cards and readers for physical and network access control, have formed an alliance to combine user access technologies onto one smart card. Datakey will offer Datakey Axis™ two-factor authentication solution with Indala’s FlexSmart™ cards and readers, giving enterprise organizations unprecedented network and proximity security in one single smart card.

“I am impressed by both the quality and depth of the Datakey offering,” said Marc Freundlich, president of Indala. “This alliance will provide our customers with the foundation on which to build a secure identification infrastructure that includes both physical and network security, as well as numerous other corporate/community applications in a single secure credential.”

Datakey Axis helps organizations regain control of authentication, delivering a powerful authentication and single sign-on solution (SSO) that bolsters security. Common authentication methods–such as passwords–are hard to remember, difficult to use, costly to administer, and vulnerable to security threats. Datakey Axis consolidates all credentials onto one smart card or token and automates user access to corporate applications and buildings through a single sign-on solution. Indala offers smart and multi-technology access cards and readers that provide automated security of physical facilities. When integrated, organizations can provide employees with one comprehensive user access credential that increases access security, makes user authentication easy and lowers overall support costs.

Traditionally, smart and multi-technology cards take additional time to manufacture due to the number of configuration options. Through the new FlexSmart Pilot Program, Indala offers customers the option to purchase these cards in small quantities at reasonable prices. Designed to support medium businesses or large enterprises with smaller pilots, the program accommodates extremely fast turnaround for customers ordering up to 1000 smart ID’s.

“Network and application security coupled with simplicity and rapid deployment is a key benefit to our customers,” said Tim Russell, president and CEO of Datakey. “This partnership promises to deliver a solution that allows customers to proactively address authentication and access issues, and have peace of mind when dealing with overall security within their organization.”
