Datacard® ID Works® SecurReg solution automatically verifies, captures and uploads identity information

New Orleans, LA. — September 15, 2003 — Datacard Group today at the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Conference & Exhibition introduced a unique software solution that brings entirely new levels of certainty, speed and affordability to the guest registration process. The new Datacard® ID Works® SecurReg software allows users to extract demographic information from driver’s licenses and other government-issued IDs and use that data to verify identities, create identity databases and produce ID cards and other secure credentials.

The ID Works SecurReg software features decoding and parsing software that can read data from a standard magnetic stripe or two-dimensional (PDF-417) bar code. Users simply scan a U.S. or Canadian driver’s license and the guest’s demographic information is automatically uploaded into a registration or enrollment application.

“The SecurReg solution provides a perfect fit for resorts, hotels, cruise ships, car rental companies and other consumer-oriented businesses looking to register or enroll customers or guests, “ said Mike Schnaus, vice president of marketing and corporate development for Datacard Group. “Automating the collection of guest information speeds the enrollment or registration process and reduces the chances for data entry errors — and that can dramatically improve customer satisfaction.

“The SecurReg solution also helps ensure that employees are checking every credential before they release room keys, sell alcohol, allow people into casinos or release rental cars,” Schnaus said. “This helps ensure that proper procedures are followed.”

ID Works SecurReg software is part of the popular Datacard® ID Works® identification software product family, a favored solution for corporate and government ID programs worldwide. “The SecurReg solution is a unique, new solution,” Schnaus said. “But it offers the smooth, seamless performance of a proven software product.” [end]
